Jessica Biel – The Voice of 'Neera' in Planet 51

Tell me about the appeal of a movie like this that's for families.

Jessica Biel: "The appeal of a movie like this is it's just so much fun and anybody can enjoy it. We have adult humor in there, we have kid humor. You can escape your life and just laugh for an hour and a half, and enjoy these characters on this funny planet. I think it's really made for people to have a good time. It's kind of an important time in our world that that's kind of what you want to do when you go to the movies. You want to forget about your life and enjoy somebody else's life for a little bit."

You said 'adult humor.' We're not talking R-rated adult humor, right?

Jessica Biel: "No, no. Just if you're an adult you're not going to be bored. There are probably some jokes that will go over the kids' heads that the adults will get, little special nuggets for them."

What's the appeal of a movie like this for you?

Jessica Biel: "Well, it's just something I haven't done before and I'm always interested in doing new things."

How easy was it to find her voice?

Jessica Biel: "It took a minute but it was pretty easy. I tend to draw a lot from myself and my personal experiences, and so it just kind of comes from that."

Planet 51 Executive Producer Albie Hecht

This is the first film from this new studio. Why Planet 51?

Albie Hecht: "Because it's the most incredible reverse-invasion movie ever. I mean it's the first and only. It's a great fantasy. It's always about what if aliens came and invaded us, but did you ever put yourself in their shoes and say, 'What if we invaded them?' I think that's a great fantasy. I also think Ilion is the next Pixar. I've been in animation for 25 years and when I got attached to this movie it was because the animation was so extraordinary. I think this studio has the potential to be that."

How many films are they going to be putting out?

Albie Hecht: "They're going to be trying to make a film every year now and become the European Pixar."

Those are big shoes to fill. Pixar is Academy Award-winning every time out of the box.

Albie Hecht: "You have to have big dreams in this business, and they have big dreams and I'm really proud to be associated with it."

And I'm sure you're proud to be associated with a voice cast like this.

Albie Hecht: "Yeah. It's been extraordinary that a new studio can attract that kind of voice talent. I think it's because of the quality of the movie and the animation."

And do you believe? Are there aliens out there among us?

Albie Hecht: "There are aliens here today. Oh yeah."

We're not saying The Rock's an alien, right?

Albie Hecht: "Who knows? Who knows? We don't know."
