Kiele Sanchez - 'Gina' in A Perfect Getaway
Okay, so you play someone who knows her way around the outdoors. How comfortable are you?
Kiele Sanchez: "I'm pretty comfortable. I don't like to camp for too long. I don't like to sleep on the ground for more than, let's say, two nights."
Not very long.
Kiele Sanchez: "Is that not very long?"
No.
Kiele Sanchez: "Maybe three nights... Maybe three nights, and then I need a bed."
But you would never be caught gutting a goat [which is what her character does]?
Kiele Sanchez: "No, I'm a vegetarian."
How tough was that scene to even imagine?
Kiele Sanchez: "It was really tough. It was really hard. And then you just form a relationship with this thing that you're gutting. You know, it's like an onstage kiss with somebody who's not your lover. You've just got to get over it."
So what about the script grabbed you?
Kiele Sanchez: "I had no idea about the ending. I had no idea of the twist, yeah. It was also just smart. I think that the humor was original to something that's a thriller. Tim [Olyphant] was already set. Steve [Zahn] was already set, and I love them. I could totally see them playing those characters. And I love David Twohy's other work as well so I was in."
So do you really think that we tell people on vacation things that we wouldn't normally talk to a stranger about?
Kiele Sanchez: "I was just asking people that, like, 'Do we really?' And friends had to remind me, 'Yeah, Kiele, you personally. I've seen you do it.' It's a very strange little phenomenon. I think we should come up with a name for it."
