Taylor Lautner – 'Jacob Black' in The Twilight Saga: New Moon
What was it like shouldering the load this time because you are the leading man?
Taylor Lautner: "It's definitely a team effort. We put a lot of hard work into it. I'm so excited for it to come out and have all the fans see it."
Is the pressure off now that it's here?
Taylor Lautner: "Actually, yes. I don't feel pressure tonight. All of our work is behind us and right now we're having a lot of fun."
Was it more fun to play Jacob this time?
Taylor Lautner: "Yeah, definitely. It was a lot more challenging and that's a good thing."
What are you going to do to relax after this?
Taylor Lautner: "Probably just spend time with my friends and family because I haven't been able to do that in a while."
Gil Birmingham – 'Billy Black' in New Moon
The fans out here are bonkers, they been waiting five days. Is there anything in your life you would have waited five days on the street to see?
Gil Birmingham: "There's not a lot of things I'd wait five minutes for so I don't know. I'd have to say no, but I do appreciate it. It's incredible. It's amazing. They have the stamina. They're young, you know, they can do that. You've got the California weather. It's just like a little sleepover."
So life on the set must have been a lot more relaxed this time. You guys knew what to expect.
Gil Birmingham: "Yeah, I can't speak for the other characters but you know the director Chris Weitz created a wonderful, safe environment for us to really explore creativity. I think the people are going to really enjoy it."
Everyone's saying Chris Weitz is a little more calm than Catherine Hardwicke was. Did you find that?
Gil Birmingham: I did, but you know we all have different personalities. He's probably more like me. But every director brings a special uniqueness to the project."
What did David Slade bring?
Gil Birmingham: "We'll have to wait to see the movie."
As an actor which one of them do you prefer? Or do you have a preference?
Gil Birmingham: "Can I pick my favorite child?"
Are you happy that this one has more of the tribe in it?
Gil Birmingham: "I am. I'm very happy the wolfpack has come onboard and then we get to move the story along and involve the Quileute tribe a lot more."
What do you think it is that grabs all these people?
Gil Birmingham: "I think it's the love story. Absolutely. I think it's something we all relate to. It's a universal thing. It resonates for everybody."
