Moon Bloodgood - 'Blair Williams' in Terminator Salvation
McG says he can totally believe that you could save the world. What does he see in you ?Moon Bloodgood: "He said that? I love McG. He seems to think I'm tough. I hope I'm a good actress at playing tough."
So you don't view yourself as a tough woman?
Moon Bloodgood: "Well I do think I'm tough but if I was Blair and I was in that situation, I just wonder if I'd be as courageous as she was. You don't know who you are until that situations arises, but I'm going to choose to believe I'm like Blair."
And she's not only tough but she has a heart. She falls for a guy not a lot of people like.
Moon Bloodgood: "Well to me the greatest things about human beings is their ability to be vulnerable but still be strong, masculine and feminine. She does things that she believes in and she's not going to compromise that, even if it goes against the Resistance which she's fought for for her whole life."
Terminator Salvation Producers Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson
So why is now the perfect time to do a reboot? Can we consider this a reboot?Derek Anderson: "I think it is a reboot but we weren't thinking about the timing. We were just huge Terminator fans and we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy the franchise. We said, 'Oh my god, we have to see what happens after Judgment Day,' which is the driving force in making this movie, I think - one of them, for us."
Victor Kubicek: "The reboot is fashionable but it's not the 'time' for this film. This film has so much more of a story to tell, so I think there's really no wrong time to continue to tell this story. Though, god bless the reboot."
And the next one - can we talk about it yet or is it too early to talk about it?
Victor Kubicek: "It's a little early to talk about it. It's something we're trying to… We don't want to eclipse this evening with what's to be."
But what about having McG back?
Victor Kubicek: "I mean, listen, of course we're doing the next film with McG, you know, who's a genius. We're so thrilled to have that partnership continue, and I think that's the only piece we can share right now. I'm sorry."
Derek Anderson: "What is it they say on television? 'Stay tuned.' But McG for sure and some of our wonderful cast for sure."
Why was McG the right guy to take on something like this?
Victor Kubicek: "This guy is such a, first of all, a huge Terminator fan and has a level of enthusiasm and passion for this story and for filmmaking that is unprecedented and almost unique."
Derek Anderson: "I mean we met with so many directors - the who's who of Hollywood - people that we'll work with on future films, those directors. And McG walked in and his vision was the one that we've been working on for so long. Every day there wasn't anyone who showed up on that set who didn't feel good, inspired, empowered, and he worked harder than anybody."
