Rebecca Murray from About.com Hollywood Movies at the world premiere of Warner Bros Pictures' The Final Destination.

Arlen Escarpeta from Midnight Son

A vampire movie? Why are you in a vampire movie?

Arlen Escarpeta: "You know what's so funny? We did this movie before the whole vampire craze, before True Blood, before Twilight. And it's nothing like either of them. This one is more of a...it's very artsy. It's hard to explain. It's a really dark romance that still with some very good, scary moments in there."

With vampires?

Arlen Escarpeta: "Oh yeah."

Are you a vampire?

Arlen Escarpeta: "No, I'm not a vampire."

Do you want to be?

Arlen Escarpeta: "I could. I'd be a good vampire. I've got a nice smile."

What sets it apart? It's just the tone that sets it apart?

Arlen Escarpeta: "I think the tone for sure. The direction is completely different. It's not your typical vampire with like super-human powers or anything like that. It's very under the surface where this guy basically has a condition where he can't go in the sun. You know what I mean? And then little by little you find out that he is a vampire, but not the supernatural vampires that we're used to seeing. So, you know, a different twist on it."

And how's the one that you're producing going?

Arlen Escarpeta: "It is going well. I've actually got a... Wait, you're talking about the movie. I've been doing so much, I don't know. That movie is actually going very well. One of the treatments I'm writing, I'm trying to write a pilot right now. I've got a treatment that I wrote and I got William H Macy to read it, and he gave me some feedback. So now I'm taking his notes and tweaking it and doing a bunch of other stuff to it."
