Mehcad Brooks - 'Eggs' in True Blood

I'm going to miss you on this season of True Blood.

Mehcad Brooks: "I'm going to miss you watching me on this season of True Blood."

Are you going to be in any flashbacks?

Mehcad Brooks: "Yes, yes. The first episode at the very least."

Are you? Is not just going to be your death scene? We're going to get to see something new?

Mehcad Brooks: "I don't know, actually. I don't know. We shot somethings, not everything aired, so we'll see."

Interesting. Are you going to miss being on that set?

Mehcad Brooks: "You know, you always miss a job when it's gone. But I got a new one on ABC called My Generation, and I'm looking forward to doing that. They're shooting in my hometown which is amazing."

Aren't you going to be directing too?

Mehcad Brooks: "Yeah, how did you know that?

The Wolf?

Mehcad Brooks: "Yeah, The Wolf. I'm directing this film called The Wolf. It's about post-traumatic stress disorder. It's an Iraqi War vet who comes home and kind of goes on a journey to find himself, but it kind of turns into Natural Born Killers."

Okay, that sounds really cool. It's going to be your directing debut, right?

Mehcad Brooks: "Yeah, and Sean Faris is starring in it. We haven't found a female lead yet. We're looking forward to it. We're shooting in Louisiana."

When are you going to do it?

Mehcad Brooks: "Soon as I have some time."

How did you get hooked up with that?

Mehcad Brooks: "I fought tooth and nail. I didn't take no for an answer and they finally, you know I guess all the bs worked. Can I say bs?"

Mehcad Brooks: "Fantastic. All my bullshit worked. And I guess that, you know, bullshit is storytelling and I think I can transpose it into film as well. I went to film school. I can do it."

You've been directed enough that you can direct.

Mehcad Brooks: "I've been directed enough to know how not to and how to."

A last True Blood question: what do you think fans are going to get out of this next season coming up?

Mehcad Brooks: "Well, Alan Ball is a genius and so I think that you have to think he's never going to let the audience down. And one thing you can count on Alan Ball and True Blood for is to make sure that they please the audience with some really enticing storylines."

And sex.

Mehcad Brooks: "That's why I said enticing."

And nudity.

Mehcad Brooks: That's why I said enticing. Doesn't sex and nudity entice you?"

Absolutely.

Mehcad Brooks: "How about that, dotcom?"
