Rebecca Murray from About.com Hollywood Movies at the Los Angeles premiere of Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Mr. T – The Voice of 'Earl Deveraux' in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Doing a voice in a kids' movie, how important is that to you?

Mr. T: "No, it's real good. It's for the new generation to let them get the chance to see and know what Mr. T really is about. I'm sure the parents probably told them, 'He was in The A-Team,' and most of the kids have probably seen stuff on the computer – 'That's what he used to do…' But then they see me and they say, 'Wow, he's nice. He's funny,' or whatnot. I play a tough role but, like I say, I'm a tough guy but not a bad guy. Even on The A-Team and whatnot, we was tough but we wasn't bad, you know? Even then we were about right and wrong. And that's my life – always about right and wrong. So here in the movie I'm a no-nonsense police officer. I'm a man of authority so the character Flint Lockwood, he's acting a little crazy doing bad things, so I'm trying to keep him straight."

But you're doing it with a heart?

Mr. T: "Yes, yes, yes, yes. I'm like, 'Flint Lockwood! Flint Lockwood, what are you doing?' I'm not like grabbing him by the collar, working him over. I'm not doing that. And then at the end I'm saving people, stuff is coming and I'm carrying a boat and all that, so I'm being a hero."

I haven't seen it yet. The food falls from the sky…

Mr. T: "Then when you've got the 3D glasses on, it's like it's coming at you."

In real life, what food would you want to see fall from the sky?

Mr. T: "Chicken and rice. Chicken and rice and some homemade biscuits, yeah. That's my favorite. I like chicken and rice. I like a little liver and rice, you know what I mean? And not just regular chicken – fried chicken. I'm from down home. We like our chicken fried."

I've got to ask you about this A-Team movie.

Mr. T: "All I can say about the A-Team movie is that I'm here for Cloudy with Meatballs. "

I loved the show. I was a huge fan.

Mr. T: "But I will tell you, The A-Team - none of the main characters are in the new movie."

You're not going to do a cameo?

Mr. T: "Nah. But I want you to know that I'm thankful to God that I was allowed to be on the TV to come into people's homes. They get a chance to know what I was about. And it allowed me a platform to go to the schools, to go to the hospitals to lift people's spirits. And I'm happy to be a part of Cloudy with Meatballs. So I don't want nobody to leave saying I'm mad or upset or whatnot. It's the business, you know? I'm glad that I was first."

Bobb'e J Thompson – The Voice of 'Cal Deveraux' in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Bobb'e J Thompson: "It's a great family movie that you can sit down and watch with your mom and dad. That type of movie, you know? Like a Shrek. It's just the kind of movie that brings love and laughter."

Tell me about your character in this and providing the voice.

Bobb'e J Thompson: "I play Cal. He's the town security guard's son who is played by Mr. T. He's a real cool, loving, sweet kid. He's very modest. He's just an all-around good kid. The type of kid you want to hang out with."
