Lynn Collins - 'Kayla Silverfox' in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

How familiar were you with the whole X-Men franchise before this?

Lynn Collins: "I was really familiar with it. I felt like they had done such a good job with the X-Men prior, and I was so excited to be a part of this one."

And working opposite Hugh Jackman had to be like a dream job.

Lynn Collins: "Yeah, it was a dream come true. He's such a positive person, such a generous actor and really such a charismatic leader as a producer on this film. He just blanketed the whole production in such positive energy. We had a great time making this movie and we hope the fans see that."

You don't have any huge action scenes in this. You do more of the quiet love interest type scenes. Was that fun to do?

Lynn Collins: "Oh, it was great. Acting with Hugh was great and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. "

Did you talk to Anna [Paquin] about being a part of the X-Men franchise because she was in it?

Lynn Collins: "That's funny. We never talked about it. I hadn't gotten this job yet when we were shooting [True Blood]."

You were totally done with True Blood by the time you did this?

Lynn Collins: "Yes, yes."

So what's more fun – working with a Wolverine or vampires?

Lynn Collins: "I'm just so lucky. I can't choose. I wonder what's coming next. Werewolves? What's next?

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner

This X-Men franchise - the fans that follow it are fanatical. How difficult is it to figure out what the next step is?

Lauren Shuler Donner: "It's really difficult. It's difficult because we want to do it right for the fans. I follow the internet. You know, I read all the sites. You bet I do. We're making this for the public but we have to please the fans. So we want to make sure we get it right. We want to make sure that they allow us to have our dramatic liberties so we can tell a good story and make it exciting."

But you still have to tell the people who don't know anything about X-Men other than what they've seen on the screen the story. That's a very difficult thing to do. How do you determine how you're doing that?

Lauren Shuler Donner: "This one's a little bit different because we start off with him young. So we just start off telling a story and all of the characters are introduced. And whether you've seen the other X-Men or not, it really doesn't matter. This is a stand-alone story. It really is."

Is that how you're going to go with all the future X-Men spin-offs?

Lauren Shuler Donner: "I think it's better that way. You know, I think they need to stand alone in their characters. We're mindful of where they're going to end up. We're mindful that, for example, General Stryker, you can't kill General Stryker because we know he's going to show up in X-Men 2. That's our job; you just come and watch the movie and we'll make it work."

Do you know which one is coming next?

Lauren Shuler Donner: "No."

Are there two or three of them?

Lauren Shuler Donner: "Well, hopefully there's a bunch of them. We're in internal discussions now and I'm hopeful that we'll develop a whole bunch of them."

Is there a story that's close to your heart that you'd like to see next?

Lauren Shuler Donner: "The next Wolverine, there's a story that takes place in Japan with a Japanese woman – two Japanese women, actually, and the Silver Samurai. It's really cool. I'd love to do that."
