Logan Lerman - 'D'Artagnan' in The Three Musketeers

Tell me what it was like on that set.

Logan Lerman: "Oh, it was action-packed. It was nerve-wracking every day because we have all these really intense and intricate, really detailed action sequences. The idea of screwing up means somebody gets hurt. So, every day was a little bit of a nail-biter. No one got hurt though."

So did you do a lot of of sword training?

Logan Lerman: "Yeah, months and months and months of training. I wanted to look good with a sword and I wanted to learn fencing and do it the right, and not piss off fencers afterwards when they see the film and they're like, 'That's not right!' So I wanted to do it correctly and make it look good. We had the best stunt team, people that were aiming for the best, trying to make the best fencing, sword-fighting, action film ever. So we really, really had a high bar for ourselves."

Do you think you lived up to that?

Logan Lerman: "I hope so. I think it looks cool. I think the trailer looks really cool. It's a lot of fun, and the fighting is amazing. I just saw the film, actually, a rough cut about a week ago and I was extremely happy. I think everybody is going to really like it, yeah."

So tell me about working with those three guys who were the Musketeers.

Logan Lerman: "They're great. They're awesome. We became like a little family for about six months or so. Got to know them really well and they're all incredible actors, and really tough guys - really bad ass. It's going to be cool. They are going to be really cool Three Musketeers."

So, it's in 3D - did you have to do anything different with your stunts because of the 3D format?

Logan Lerman: "You know what? You just have to get a little bit closer to camera, which is always nerve-wracking because they're really expensive cameras. I didn't want to break them or anything. But, yeah, it's the sense of depth so you've got to get really close to make sure that you can really see it. Besides that, it was amazing to work with them. There were so many perks and benefits of being able to work with those rigs that are like so much more accurate than anything else that I've ever worked with. You get to see the playback right afterwards in incredible quality and in 3D on 3D monitors. It's like a more accurate way of filmmaking. You can really see what the final product will be before you make it."

Are you a fan of 3D usually?

Logan Lerman: "Yeah, yeah. I mean, when used right. I think that Paul Anderson knows how to use it right. Resident Evil was one of the best 3D films I've ever seen."
