Tyrese Gibson - Legion
So how does the action in this compare to the action in Transformers?
Tyrese Gibson: "You know what? It really doesn't compare. No, because it's two different kinds of movies. The action definitely doesn't compare because Transformers is just a machine and a beast all by itself. But, you know, the action in this movie is amazing because the special effects in this film is done by someone who owns a special effects company. My man Scott Stewart the director making his directorial debut owns Orphanage, and so it's a different kind. I've been telling people that I believe because he's worked on so many films, that there's a little capsule full of special effects that he has yet to give to anybody else that he saved for this movie. And he just unleashed all of them."
He saved them for his debut.
Tyrese Gibson: "That's it. It's like, 'I gave you all this, I gave you all that, but y'all not getting any of this over here.' He kept it tucked away, so he unleashed it all in Legion."
How is he as a director because he hasn't done it before?
Tyrese Gibson: "I was really shocked because I was expecting a really bad experience. He's a nice guy when you meet him and talk to him, but then when you get to the set, you're like, 'Man, what's going to happen?' But he blew me away because he was on point. He knew exactly what he wanted. He was very organized and we weren't sitting around waiting for two, three days at a time. Because on these movie sets it's hurry up and wait."
Who do you play?
Tyrese Gibson: "Well, you know, there's only so much I can tell you all about it."
I know, you can't tell much about this film. You can't give away anything.
Tyrese Gibson: "We went to media training and they told us to keep [quiet]."
The do's and the don'ts.
Tyrese Gibson: "That's right. I know my character is one of many that's going to end up in this restaurant in the middle of nowhere. And there's these evil forces that are trying to get a hold of her, who's carrying something that I can't speak on, as these forces that are trying to get a hold of her. And so we're just there trying to protect her from these evil forces."
You're so good at that.
Tyrese Gibson: "Thank you very much."
