Sid and Marty Krofft - Creators of Land of the Lost

Marty Krofft: "We produced the movie with Jimmy Miller. How did they do? I did great, so did everybody else."

Sid Krofft: "We're so thrilled with it. We took it into the year 2009."

Marty Krofft: "But we left the low-tech, some of it."

Sid Krofft: "And the Sleestaks are there, Chaka is there, Enik's there…"

And people who never saw the original series are still going to understand this new world, right?

Marty Krofft: "Absolutely. You don't have to see the original. By the way, the biggest testings are kids like 11 up to 25 – that's bigger than our fans."

Sid Krofft: "We also know there isn't a kid or an adult that doesn't have a fascination or love for dinosaurs. So I hope they're going to come and see it."

Did you, when you were originally working on this series, expect it to have such a lasting impact?

Marty Krofft: "Absolutely! We didn't know anything. Are you kidding?"

Sid Krofft: "This was our fifth show and we wanted to do something for the kids that were now teenagers."

And American Idol judge Randy Jackson joins the interview.

Randy Jackson: "Marty and Sid Krofft are the greatest guys. These two guys, along with my son Jordan, are the greatest guys on the known planet."

Are you a fan of Land of the Lost? Did you watch it?

Randy Jackson: "I'm a fan of Land of the Lost. I'm a fan of these two guys. You know, people used to say that I was like their long-lost brother."

Marty Krofft: "We're adopted."

Randy Jackson: "You guys were adopted."

You are working on projects together?

Randy Jackson: "Yeah, dude. We have so many things going on. I mean it's just kind of wild. I mean I don't want to say this – I don't want to go out on a limb – but I may be starring in a movie soon. It might be called RJ Pufnstuf."
