Katie Featherston from Paranormal Activity
You look gorgeous.Katie Featherston: "Oh, thank you so much."
So different than we see you in the movie.
Katie Featherston: "You know, there's no bloody T-shirts or pajamas so it's a step up."
How were you able to keep up that level of adrenaline the whole time?
Katie Featherston: "You know, I was working with two great people - Micah Sloat and Oren Peli - who were great support, and then we just worked non-stop so there was never really a time where you kind of broke and got a break and went home and saw your family. It was just non-stop so we just kind of stayed in it and kept rolling with it."
Why would you ever say yes to a 2?
Katie Featherston: "To a 2? Well, I don't know that I have said yes to a 2. But I do know that from what I've heard from Oren and Jason [Blum] and Steven [Schneider], the producers, that it's going to be great. I'm excited to see it when it comes out on the 22nd."
Are you just a huge fan of the genre in the first place?
Katie Featherston: "Yeah. I've always loved to be frightened, you know? I've always wanted to watch a bunch of scary movies at home with friends and get scared. You know, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't happen. Gore doesn't scare me but a good frightening movie is so fun."
Coming to a SCREAM Awards where everybody recognizes your face, is that surreal?
Katie Featherston: "It is surreal but it's also really nice. I mean I'm the same girl I was three years ago when nobody did recognize me, so this is just nice. This is flattering and I'm thankful for it, and I'm just excited to be a part of it."
What are you working on next?
Katie Featherston: "I have a couple of independent movies - non horror-related - that I'm working on, so we'll see which one of them comes to fruition first, but I'm definitely staying busy."
Are they going to be a little higher budget than what you've had before?
Katie Featherston: "Higher than Paranormal Activity 1, that's for sure. Yes."
Micah Sloat from Paranormal Activity
How's it feel to come to an event where everybody knows you?Micah Sloat: "It's... There's nothing to describe it. It's exhilarating. It's great."
Are you still a fan of the horror movie genre?
Micah Sloat: "Still? Yeah, definitely."
After doing one?
Micah Sloat: "Oh, I'm even more so because I get to realize how the horror fans are really the best fans in the world. They're the most loyal. Fan stands for fanatic for a reason, and I think the real fans are the horror fans because they really care about they're genre."
But when you're laying down $10 to see a movie, is this what you go see - a horror movie?
Micah Sloat: "Sometimes. I get really scared when I see horror films so I love seeing horror movies but I see like a couple a year because I need like a decompression session."
