Jennifer Connelly – 'Janine' in He's Just Not That Into You
Okay, we know this movie is going to attract women. But why are guys going to like this film?Jennifer Connelly: "I think it's a fun film. I think that there are some really great guys in the film as well. It's a collection of different stories I think probably, you know, there's something for everyone."
Is the advice in the film equal for both sexes?
Jennifer Connelly: "I don't know that it's really… I mean, I didn't really think that it was a film that was trying to preach anything so much. I mean, I didn't look at it that way. I didn't read it that way, and that's not how I approached the making of the film. I thought it was a fun collection of characters and stories."
If you couldn't play your character, was there another one that you were really attracted to?
Jennifer Connelly: "I liked my character. I liked her a lot. I thought she was sort of weirdly neurotic and compulsive and obsessive. I thought there were some things that are interesting and charming about her."
It's something far different for you.
Jennifer Connelly: "It's really different from anything I've done, and I like that."
Kris Kristofferson – 'Ken' in He's Just Not That Into You
Kris Kristofferson: "He's a grumpy old man and he doesn't have any time for bullsquash. So I enjoyed playing him."So you read the character and thought, "That's me?"
Kris Kristofferson: "Well I wanted it to work anyway because I wanted to work with Jennifer [Aniston] and I really like the script, you know? It was fun."
Are you normally drawn to romantic comedies?
Kris Kristofferson: "Yeah, I wish I would do more of that. For a long time it was either just being the hero or whatever or in films like Lone Star where I was being a bad guy, but I love comedy and like to work on stuff that would make me laugh too. That's why I liked this. I laughed when I read the script, you know? And I'd worked with Jennifer. She'd directed me in a little independent film."
