Jeffrey Dean Morgan – 'Clay' in The Losers

I never read the comics and when I see your poster, you look like James Bond. Is that your character? He's all suave and sophisticated on the poster.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "Yeah, yeah. Clay, the character I play, he doesn't wear anything but a black suit - ever. I think in the jungle we see me in some fatigues at the beginning of the film. But once he puts on that black suit, and if you've seen the graphic novel, the guy wears a black suit, white shirt. So every day in Puerto Rico in a hundred – I don't know - ten degree wet heat…black suit. It was awesome. And you know I fought for it, too. I was like, 'No, he's got to wear the black suit.' And then midway through three months of filming or four months of filming, I was like, 'This was a horrible decision. I need some khaki shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.'"

So this one you kind of like carry the load, too. It's your film, right? Aren't you the main guy in all these guys?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "Yeah, I mean, I'm the leader of this group of losers, yeah. But as far as we go as actors, it's very collaborative. We're all equal parts. But it's awesome. It was fun to be their leader in the film. I wouldn't want to lead a better group of folks anywhere else so…"

These guys they didn't bug you off the set. It's a pretty easy group.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "It's a pretty easy group. I don't know who you interviewed yet, but there's some nutballs in the gang. We all got along exceedingly well, both off screen and on. Sometimes it's really kind of hard to get into the groove with actors. Some people can be difficult."

Really?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "Yeah, I know, it's weird. Who would think? But this group is really fun and great, and we hung out not only while we were working but after hours. And we still actually hang out, and we did the movie a year ago. So, that's weird."

You can't get rid of them.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "I can't. So you know hopefully this movie does okay and we'll get another shot at doing Losers 2."

This isn't just totally action, is it? There's stuff in there besides action.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "Yeah, yeah. There's some action, there's humor, there's a little romance, you know? A little bit of everything."

Romance?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "My character and Zoe's character have the hots for her a little bit, so we'll see how that plays out. It's a dangerous attraction – it sure is."

And you really want to do this again? You're not tired of comic book inspired characters?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: "No, because in between stuff I do other things. You know, I told you about the movie I'm starting. There's a lot of stuff in between. And look, to work with these people again, I'd be happy to. Absolutely. It's a good group."
