Jason Sudeikis - 'Box' in Going the Distance

This is different than most romantic comedies in that you get to improv and it's R-rated, so was that kind of fun?

Jason Sudeikis: "It was fun. We got to talk the way we normally talk - or speak the way we normally speak. I don't know."

Is that freeing for you - were you loving that?

Jason Sudeikis: "It's not very freeing, maybe artistically it was freeing. But it's never freeing when you have a microphone hanging above your head and a bunch of lights pointed at you and you can only move in certain directions, otherwise you're out of the camera's eye line. But otherwise it's pretty freeing."

And [director Nanette Burstein] let you do a lot of improv too.

Jason Sudeikis: "Sure did. She was very nice that way."

And you like to do that?

Jason Sudeikis: "I don't mind it, when asked."

So how much do you think that was in the script is on the screen?

Jason Sudeikis: "Oh, I would say it's probably 50-50. Geoff [LaTulippe], the writer, had a lot of good scenario's set up and then we definitely filmed the movie. But sometimes you do things so many times that you end up having to switch things up just to get the crew back into it and wake everybody up."

And she comes from a documentary filmmaker point of view, did you notice the transition from her?

Jason Sudeikis: "If there was it was all internal, in her own brain. I didn't notice anything."

So what sets this one apart from every other romantic comedy?

Jason Sudeikis: "I have no idea. The subject matter. I don't think all these people in this movie have all been in another movie together before, so that's got to be a big selling point. It's the only place to find all these exact people, playing these parts, saying these exact words."

With this storyline.

Jason Sudeikis: "Yeah, exactly. But you know, other than that...it's tough to say."

Are you a romantic comedy type of guy?

Jason Sudeikis: "I am."

Is this the sort of film you'd go see?

Jason Sudeikis: "I would go see this. I actually would."

How's Horrible Bosses going?

Jason Sudeikis: "Good. I would not go see that. Because it's not done yet...once it's done, maybe I'd go see it. If someone tells you to go see it now, don't go. It's a fake movie. We're still shooting it."

Charlie Day - 'Dan' in Going the Distance

Tell me about working on this.

Charlie Day: "It was awesome - a lot of fun. The greatest thing I think was meeting Mr. Sudeikis here, but outside of that I've been friends with Justin [Long] for years and it was great to finally get to finally be in a movie with him."

How's the chemistry between all of you guys, because you have to play friends?

Charlie Day: "It was one of those things where we hit it off pretty quickly and in our Hollywood ways, we all went our separate ways. But fortunately Jason and I got to work together a couple more times after that, and hopefully I get to see those guys a little more often."

This is a little different from most romantic comedies in that it's R-rated and they let you guys improv. What was that like?

Charlie Day: "That's how I like to work. I like to swear and I like to swear off the cuff, so it was a lot of fun. You know, it was liberating. We were able to discover some funny moments doing that."

How's Horrible Bosses going?

Charlie Day: "Horrible Bosses is going great. We're working on it in a similar sort of fashion and coming up with great stuff every day. I think it's going to be a really funny movie."
