James Marsden - Hop

Hop, you're going to be in this Easter Bunny movie - tell me about it.

James Marsden: "It's me and Russell Brand. He plays the Easter Bunny who doesn't want to be the Easter Bunny. I'm a sort of slacker, still living at home, late 20s/early 30s year old who's trying to find his purpose in life. They stumble into each other - and then I would ruin it for you if I went on."

You stumble into each other... I thought you injured the Easter Bunny.

James Marsden: "That sort of is a figure of speech, but yes, I accidentally run into him physically with my car. He comes into my life and I try and get rid of him, I try and keep him... He's a bit of a pain in the butt but we learn about each other - the buddy dynamic."

You bond with the Easter Bunny?

James Marsden: "Yes, we do. So it was two months of acting opposite a little piece of green tape."

Is that all that was there?

James Marsden: "Yeah, pretty much."

There wasn't a person there for you to...

James Marsden: "Well there was an actor there reading lines off camera but I was not allowed to look at him because, you know, I was looking at the Easter Bunny."

That kind of sucks.

James Marsden: "It doesn't suck so much as it is just a new, challenging skill set you have to learn."

Wouldn't it have been better if they had a six foot bunny standing there?

James Marsden: "I don't know. Maybe the green tape would be better."

Or they could have put Russell Brand out there and let him throw lines at you. That would have been fun.

James Marsden: "That would have been perfect. It would have been different every time."

What else are you working on?

James Marsden: "Nothing at the moment. Just wrapped two days ago so I'm going to take a little time off, enjoy the summer, and hang with the family."

Enchanted 2 supposedly is happening. Are they bringing you back?

James Marsden: "I don't know. I don't know that much about it. I've heard rumors that they're doing it but sometimes it seems like we're always the last people to know. Hopefully. I'd love to come back."
