Emma Stone – 'Wichita' in Zombieland
Emma Stone: "What's up, you guys?"
This isn't your typical zombie movie.
Emma Stone: "Yeah, it's not your typical zombie movie. Well, first off, it's really funny which most zombie movies are not funny. Some are, but for all the wrong reasons. Yeah, so the humor also lends a sweetness to it because, you know, it's the last four people we really know are alive. They are pretty much all each other has, so they're forming a whole new family in the midst of this horrible crisis. So, you know, that's instant sweetness for you. That's some sugar."
How much fun is it to just be able to kick some ass in a movie?
Emma Stone: "Not bad at all. I was happy to do it. I don't know that I was that good at it, but it felt good to hold that gun and pretend to shoot people in the face. Not people, zombies. Not people, I am a pacifist."
Why do we still love zombies? Why are they still so popular?
Emma Stone: "I think because, as a concept, it could actually happen. It makes sense that it could happen. It's like one of the only supernatural-esque things that could. Someone could get a terrible plague and turn into these terrible zombies. Like look at all the diseases we have in the world. So, it could happen. It's a little scary."
Mike White
I love Amazing Race and I can't believe you got to be on it.
Mike White: "I know."
Is it as cool as it looks to actually be there doing that?
Mike White: "It was so fun. Yeah, I think they're airing the next season starting on Sunday and it's like it's a little pain in my heart. I'm jealous. I want to be still on the race."
Was it more difficult than you thought?
Mike White: "It was more difficult, but it was also more fun even. After about two weeks of racing you are like, ' I need a meal. I need to sleep.' But still even in those moments you still can't believe you're getting to do it. It's so fun."
I'm so jealous of you. Do you get to be a zombie in this?
Mike White: "I'm not a zombie, I'm a victim."
Would it have been more fun to have been a zombie?
Mike White: "It would be. I would have liked to have been a victim and a zombie. The zombies in this particular movie had to like spew up a lot of really gross stuff that I don't think I would have wanted to put in my mouth."
Even after Amazing Race you wouldn't do that?
Mike White: "Fortunately we got kicked off before we had to do any of the bug challenges."
What's happening with School of Rock 2?
Mike White: "We'll see. It's all about scheduling stuff. All these busy people trying to figure out, but it should happen, right? It should happen."
It's been a long time. We're ready for it.
Mike White: "I've done my job."
Did you? You already did it?
Mike White: "Yeah, yeah."
We're just holding up on Jack Black?
Mike White: "When all the stars align."
