Danny Huston - 'William Stryker' in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

How interesting is it to be on a Wolverine set? It's a little different than most of the sets that you're on. This is a different type of movie.

Danny Huston: "Well, it's a sort of predetermined world that you're stepping into so even if it's green screen and you don't quite know what's going on around you, it's not difficult to imagine the amount of craft and work that's going to go into creating that environment for you. And with the help of Gavin Hood, the director, and also Hugh Jackman – who's obviously played the character so many times – I was able to find my footing and figure it out."

Is it different with Hugh because he's done this so many times before? He knows these characters. He knows this universe.

Danny Huston: "He knows that character inside and out. He knows the universe. And it proves himself because he arrives and he's such a sweet, loving, nice, unaffected guy and the camera turns on and he turns into this stealth killer of a creature and it's quite remarkable to see him change so quickly."

You're pretty evil in this movie. Is it fun to get into that?

Danny Huston: "I do like playing evil characters and I like to try and give them a little heart as well, and not portray them wholly evil which I believe makes them possibly all the more terrifying. "

Why do you like that type of character because you do it so well and you do it a lot? They go to you for this type of thing.

Danny Huston: "Well, there's a complexity which I really enjoy. I like taking out a scalpel and ripping the character apart and prodding its various organs and seeing what it is that makes it feel."

Is this a movie that you would go see if you weren't in it? Are you into this type of comic book movie?

Danny Huston: "I'm so overwhelmed with the X-Men world and finally understand it, that now yes I would."

So the first three maybe not so much, but this one…

Danny Huston: "Now I get it. Now I'm hip."

will.i.am – 'John Wraith'

will.i.am: "It's unbelievable, exciting. Some of the best memories of my life came while I was doing this film. I was flying back and forth from Australia to home, doing Larry King and campaigning for Obama. …The Democratic National Convention and going back to film."

Was it kind of surreal? You're going from that, such a serious, extremely important thing and now you're going to an X-Men movie?

will.i.am: "Yeah, playing a dude that's…"

Disappearing. How do you wrap your head around that?

will.i.am: "It is. One, you don't believe you're there on Larry King and at the inauguration. Like, 'Why me?' Then you're in X-Men next to Hugh Jackman with his claws and you're like, 'How did I do this?' Right? It's surreal everywhere you turn. It's a surreal life."

Is he a fun guy to play?

will.i.am: "John Wraith? Yeah, it was great playing him. I based him off a good friend of mine named Earl. The kind of guy that you don't mess with but the kind of guy that you befriend because he's just ultra-cool. You have to be mega-cool to have Wolverine as a friend. In the movie I play Wolverine's best friend. Yeah, it's great."
