Rebecca Murray from About.com Hollywood Movies at the 12th Annual Hollywood Film Festival Awards Gala.

Chris Pine – One of Variety's 10 Actors to Watch and 'James T Kirk' in Star Trek

Really looking forward to Star Trek. I'm a fan. Am I going to be satisfied?

Chris Pine: "I think so. I think I'd be a bad sales person if I told you you wouldn't be satisfied. Yeah, the little bits and pieces that I've seen of it are fantastic. And I think what JJ [Abrams'] has done with it… I think he's made it accessible for people who aren't fans. I think he will satisfy… You know, it's a pretty tough job trying to please all the fans I'm sure. But I think the majority of them will see the traces of the old in it and be happy with those new things that we brought."

How tough was it to step into those shoes?

Chris Pine: "It certainly is daunting, but you know JJ set these parameters in the beginning and essentially the parameters were, 'Just be you. Play you. Bring your own unique take on the part.' In many ways it's a lose/lose thing because people loved Shatner and of course they would love Mr. Shatner. He did a great job. But all I can promise is that I did my best and I think what I did is true to myself, true to the character, and I think hopefully will resonate with some people."
