Bruce Willis - RedWhy do you think Comic Con is so important to marketing films?
Bruce Willis: "Well there's a big audience here over this weekend, right? You guys are here with the cameras and stuff. Marketing's everything these days in Hollywood. And apparently there are a ton of movie stars in San Diego this week."
"[Red] is a comic book movie. This is a graphic comic book movie so, yeah, I think it works. It is a huge audience and not just comic book fans but comic books and films now are all in the entertainment world, right? So yeah, I think it's more about that everything is entertainment now - sports, news, movies, comics, graphic comics, graphic novels."
You do so many action movies...
Bruce Willis: "I do?"
You do. So what was it about this one that made you pick up the script? What was it about this one that made it so important for you not to pass on?
Bruce Willis: "Well it's not just action. It's not just action, it's action, romance, and comedy all woven together in one story which is a lot more ambitious than just blowing stuff up. And I'm not quite sure that it's so much about the fact that I do so many action films, but just what films get noticed and what films don't. I do a lot of different kinds of movies and I guess the action films make more noise and are a little splashier. But I get to try a lot of different things."
If you were a superhero, what power would you want?
Bruce Willis: "X-ray vision."
What would you do with it? Who would you like to see?
Bruce Willis: "See how much money... Oh, you went right there. No, I want to see what things are made of. Did you ever see that show How It's Made? That's me."
