Brooke Shields – 'Tammy' in Furry VengeanceWhen you're working with a cast like this, where you've got Brendan Fraser and Ken Jeong, how do you keep it together?
Brooke Shields: "You know, I respect the comedy so much. I love what they do. It is like being in a clinic - it's like watching them. And I don't want to be the idiot that messes a take up because I'm laughing and making it about me, you know? So I don't break up unless I'm the one that's going to suffer for it. And also you don't want to disrupt it. It was hard, because it's so funny, but you know then we all got to be funny. So it was sort of like we all had our moments that we just knew, 'Okay, it's that person's turn, it's that person's turn.'"
What was so attractive about playing her?
Brooke Shields: "Well, working with Brendan to me. They said that and I was like, 'Oh, I'm okay. Look, I'm free.' And then also I love family movies. I love movies that I can take my kids to, and I love making my children laugh. I love to be entertained. It's like the credits on this movie were like a whole movie. We filmed the credits on this movie and there's a little - well, a big surprise - but a treat for even all the parents, that generation. That's what I will say. And it was all my fault."
Skyler Samuels – 'Amber' in Furry VengeanceWhat was the appeal of being in a movie like this?
Skyler Samuels: "Well the nice thing about Furry Vengeance is that it's a family comedy so it will make you laugh, but at the same time it holds this really great environmental message which is saving the forest and respecting animals. So, it kind of takes both and it puts them together so that you'll not only enjoy what you're watching, but you'll get something from that."
Are you really into that in the first place?
Skyler Samuels: "I am. I'm big into recycling and sustainable efforts. I'm on the sustainability club at school and trying to come up with ways to be more eco-friendly. So I was really excited to be a part of a project that kind of further expanded what I know."
You work opposite Matt [Prokop] in this?
Skyler Samuels: "I do."
Are you the one he has his first onscreen kiss with?
Skyler Samuels: "Maybe... It's a rumor. You're going to have to see the movie to find out."
That's a nice tease. So, working with Brendan, what was that like?
Skyler Samuels: "Working with Brendan Fraser was probably the most fun I've had on a set ever. He is so incredible, so imaginative. He keeps you on your toes the entire time. I mean, even though there's a script, he makes it interesting. It's different every time. He's really so much fun to work with."
How easy is it for you to keep up with him?
Skyler Samuels: "You know, sometimes in the beginning you don't know what to do because you're like, 'Oh my god, you're hilarious. I don't even know what to do!' But it was actually a great challenge. It was a great learning experience working with Angela Kinsey and Ken Jeong and Brooke Shields and Brendan Fraser, Gerry Bednob, all these people. You get quick. They keep you on your feet. So I actually had a great, intensive training, you know? Comedy 101 - it was really great."
What are you working on next?
Skyler Samuels: "Well, I'm currently working on a project for ABC. It will be out this summer, June 28th. It's called The Gates. A one hour drama about a gated community, very elite people. Unfortunately, the residents have some very dark secrets they're keeping."
