Aaron Eckhart - 'Sgt. Nantz' in Battle: Los Angeles

Did you get to live out your war movie fantasy in a movie that has aliens in it?

Aaron Eckhart: "Yeah, and that's a great thing because you really feel like, you know, nobody's getting hurt in the film but we treated it very real. And that was great because we could run around, we'd jump off things. We just really felt like we were at war, and I feel like it's going to be great for the Marines to see this movie because we really treated it with respect. I thought we got it really accurate. We really tried hard, and I think it's going to be a great movie on many different levels."

How difficult was it to capture being a Marine? They have a whole different mindset.

Aaron Eckhart: "We chewed it up, man. We're mad dogs. Every day was just hell. It was just dirt, grime, sweat, we're tired, but it was great because there's no make-up in this movie, man. We didn't need any make-up."

And I understand that you actually broke your leg or something making this?

Aaron Eckhart: "I broke my arm in this movie."

And you kept on filming?

Aaron Eckhart: "Yeah, yeah, like Charlie Chaplin. No, it was good. It fit right into the scene and I had another one so I was able to use this one."

There are a lot of alien movies out there. What sets this one apart?

Aaron Eckhart: "Heart."
