Arlen Escarpeta - Friday the 13th
You've got Friday the 13th - a scary movie…
Arlen Escarpeta: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Scary movie, commercial movie, pop movie, I'm very excited. I'm very excited."
So who do you play? You don't get killed right away, do you?
Arlen Escarpeta: "No, I break the black guy stigma. I don't get killed right away. They did me right. They did me right. Martin Luther King would be proud. Obama, yes we can. I'm doing it."
So is it grisly? Is it Friday the 13th all over again or is this a new one?
Arlen Escarpeta: "It's new but it's everything that you want and already know, plus a little bit more. We're satisfying the diehard fans for sure, but at the same time we're bringing something fresh, new, exciting. It's fun. Jason is revamped. I mean, the man is back. I drove by someone's Halloween lawn lately. They have Freddy Krueger, Jason – born/dead, he wasn't there because the man is still alive. Yeah, it's good."
What was it like the first time you saw the mask?
Arlen Escarpeta: "Oh my gosh. I can't wait for you guys to see the mask. I think the trailer drops tomorrow on YouTube. The first teaser drops in front of Saw V. The reveal is amazing. You'll see. You'll see. I'm really excited. It's really good. Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Michael Bay, Platinum Dunes, Marcus Nispel, good guys. Thank you guys very much. Pleasure."
