Angelina Jolie – 'Christine Collins' in Changeling, Directed by Clint EastwoodWhat makes Clint Eastwood so special to work with?
Angelina Jolie: "He's just one of the most clear-thinking, honorable men you'll ever meet. He's just such an original and he's so… He's just clean. There's so many people that walk around trying to be somebody else or trying to figure out who they are, and you can just…you can watch him on-screen and you can sit down with him and you just feel like you're learning so much about life, and having such a direct conversation with somebody who has no inhibitions, no fears, no guards. He's a very unique human being."
And he's very collaborative?
Angelina Jolie: "He's very collaborative. He makes the happiest set. Everybody that works on his set is just… We do our absolute best because we admire him so much but also he works harder than anybody so you kind of feel like, 'All right, if he's going to bring it I'm going to try and bring my best.' I've got to step it up to work with him."
How tough was your character to leave behind? I wanted to know more about her.
Angelina Jolie: "Oh yeah. No, I actually do too. I've been wanting… You know, it was so hard to do that it was a relief to leave behind so I ran away from it. I spent so much time inside of her and thinking about… It was just so painful and so as soon as I could kind of shed it and get a bunch of toys out with my kids and paints and pajamas and things and funny things, I just jumped into that."
