Alex Pettyfer - 'Number Four/John Smith' in I Am Number Four

You look amazing tonight. How long does something like this take to pull together?

Alex Pettyfer: "Two seconds, because it's all done for you. You stand there and it's like you're being dressed by two amazing women. I'm a very lucky man to get given such a beautiful suit."

There's a great love story in the film and Dianna Agron said her favorite part of the film was your last line. What's your favorite part?

Alex Pettyfer: "I think my favorite part in the film is, I love the love story that's intertwined but I think the moment where Sam realizes he's this outsider and he has nothing more to believe in because everyone has crushed his dreams and I turn around and I tell him that everyone he's ever believed in is real. I think that's what the art of making movies is about is believing in what you're making and creating imagination and making it a reality."

Can you stunt about handling the stunt work in this?

Alex Pettyfer: "Yeah. We did two months training beforehand. I did wire work and flexibility training. I find it hard enough to bend down and touch my toes, yet alone do backflips off of waterfalls so, yeah."

Would you say it's the sci-fi, the action, or the love story that really attracted you to this role?

Alex Pettyfer: "I think it's the story of John. John is this unique character and he's reluctant to be a hero, and we haven't seen that for a while, you know? Give any 20 year old kid super powers and, yeah, I'm sure none of them would deny that they want to use it. I found it very intriguing that someone like John just wants normality."

Valentine's Day is next week. What are your plans?

Alex Pettyfer: "I have Kathy. She was over there. She was over there and she said she'd be my date..."
