Aaron Eckhart - Rabbit Hole and The Rum Diary

The buzz on Rabbit Hole is incredible. How was that to work on with Nicole Kidman and what are audiences going to get from that movie?

Aaron Eckhart: "I loved working with Nicole. I'm very honored to be in the movie. You know the subject matter it challenges an audience. It's a very hopeful movie."

Hopeful?

Aaron Eckhart: "Hopeful in the sense that people have tragedy in their lives and they can stick together and overcome it. You know, it just takes time and patience and then we can heal ourselves. And you know working on that film, it was a small film so it was a very intimate film. We all basically lived together in this house and got to know each other, and I think it really helped our performances."

And Rum Diary too - could you be in any more buzzed about movies?

Aaron Eckhart: "I don't know. But I had a great time working with Johnny Depp and doing a Hunter S Thompson film. And then Battle: Los Angeles I have coming out, so it was a good year for me last year."

Those are all such different films. Is that what attracts you is when you can do something so different?

Aaron Eckhart: "Yeah, that's kind of been... I wake up in the morning and I don't know what I'm going to do. I could fall in love or I could trip and be hit by a car, and that's kind of the way I approach my career is just kind of whatever kind of inspires me. I don't have a rhyme nor reason to what I do, other than working with great people."

The SCREAM Awards is a different experience...

Aaron Eckhart: "Look at all those people."

It's crazy.

Aaron Eckhart: "Yeah."

Why did you subject yourself to this craziness?

Aaron Eckhart: "Why not?"
