John Cusack - 'Jackson Curtis' in 2012
You've said that you liked 2012's script because it had gallows humor. Is that a real quote from you?
John Cusack: "It sounds like it was."
Why did that appeal to you?
John Cusack: "Well I think that Roland [Emmerich] destroys every kind of symbol and every icon and every institution in the world. You know, he has churches falling on peoples' heads. There's a certain sort of a punk rock sensibility to what he does."
And you appreciate that?
John Cusack: "I do."
Do you believe 2012 sort of destruction?
John Cusack: "No, I think we'll all be stuck with each other."
Liam James - 'Noah Curtis' in 2012
Tell me what it's like to have John Cusack play your dad.
Liam James: "He's a really nice guy. He's never mean or ignores me. He's always there for me."
If the world was going to end in a couple of years, would you want to know?
Liam James: "Yeah."
Really? You don't think you'd be scared for the rest of the time?
Liam James: "Well, then that would just give me the chance to live life to the fullest."
Morgan Lily - 'Lilly Curtis' in 2012
How tough was it to be on a film with all these big sets and action pieces?
Morgan Lily: "It wasn't that tough except for the emotion scenes were pretty much everything. But those are my favorite scenes."
Why were those your favorite?
Morgan Lily: "Because you had to put the most effort and it's challenging. I like challenges."
Alexandre and Philippe Haussmann - 'Alec' and 'Oleg' in 2012
Did you guys get a lot of action scenes?
Alexandre Haussmann: "Most of our scenes are action scenes."
What was that like?
Alexandre Haussmann: "It was great. It was like going every day to work in a theme park and ride the rides every day."
Did they string you up on wires?
Philippe Haussmann: "One scene."
Was that scary or was it fun?
Philippe Haussmann: "Well, you were the one hanging on the wire."
Alexandre Haussmann: "It was a little bit of both. You know, the first time they shot me up on a string going flying, it was a little bit scary. I didn't know what was going to happen, the string is really thin - kind of scary. But after a while it was fun. I felt like Superman a little bit."
