Hi, I'm Jacob Taxis for In this video, you will learn how to make Moroccan orange cake. This is a recipe from's Moroccan Food site.

Moroccan Orange Cake Ingredients

You'll need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 1⁄2 cups of sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1⁄2 cup of fresh orange juice (2 oranges)
  • 4 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt
  • Zest from 1 orange
  • 1 tube pan

Make Moroccan Orange Cake Batter

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is warming, grease and flour the tube pan and zest one of the oranges. Next, juice both oranges; this should yield approximately 1⁄2 cup of juice.

After juicing the oranges, beat the eggs and sugar together in a medium size bowl, and gradually add the vegetable oil. Then, add the flour, baking powder, salt, and orange juice, and stir until the mixture is smooth. If you prefer a stronger orange taste, try adding more juice. Lastly, add the vanilla and orange zest and mix well.

Bake the Moroccan Orange Cake

When the batter is complete, pour it into the tube pan and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes. The cake is done when the top is golden brown. Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before removing it from the pan and placing on a rack or a plate.

Moroccan orange cake is served without frosting and is a wonderful accompaniment to coffee or tea.
