- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 5 cups oil for frying
Blend the IngredientsOpen a can of chickpeas and drain the liquid. Into a medium bowl, place the chickpeas, garlic, onion, coriander, cumin, salt, pepper, and baking powder.
Using a hand-held blender, mash the ingredients together until they form a thick paste.
Fry the FalafelShape the mixture with your hands into small balls about size of a ping pong ball.
Heat five cups of oil in your frying pan. Place your balls into the oil until they're golden brown - about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to turn them with a slotted spoon so they brown evenly.
With a slotted spoon transfer, the fried balls onto your bowl lined with a paper towel.
