Hi, I am Ibn for About.com and today I am going to teach you how to determine your face shape.Use a Tape Measure to Find Your Face Shape
First, get the measurements of your face with a ruler or tape measure. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones. Place the tape measure by the outer corner of your eye, then lay it over the bridge of your nose to the other outer corner of your eye. Write the measurement down.Measure across your jaw line. Measure close to your ear to the middle of your chin. Multiply your measurement by two. Write down the measurement. Measure across your forehead. Measure from one side, over the widest point of your forehead, which is halfway between your eyebrows and hairline. Write down the measurement. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin. Write this measurement down.
Find Your Face Shape Based on Measurements
If your face is as long as it is wide, or close in size, then you have a round face. If your chin is slightly more narrow than your forehead and cheek bones, then you have an oval face.If your face is longer than it is wide, you have an oblong face.If you have a narrow jaw line, and wide forehead and cheekbones, then you have a heart shaped face. If you have a square shaped forehead, jaw line and cheekbones that are almost the same width, then you have a square face.
If you have a wider forehead that gradually narrows to a slight point or rounded chin, then you have a triangular face. If you have wide cheeks and a narrow forehead and jaw line, then you have a diamond face.
