Transcript:How to Get a Clean-Cut Boyish Haircut for Men
Hi I'm Stephanie from Epicenter Salon in Portland, Oregon for About.com. And this is how you get a clean-cut boyish haircut for men.
Start the Cut by Trimming the Back of the Neck
You want to create a horseshoe parting to isolate the top portion of the head. I will be using the clipper over comb method. You can also use clipper guards as well. Im going to be taking this as short as a number 2 or number 3. Starting in this first section and working my way back.
Go back through and crosscheck your sections to make sure that the layer is nice and even. Alright at this point im going to be cleaning up the hair around the ear and sideburn as well as trimming up around the neck.
Cut Angles into the Top of the Hair
We're going to leave some disconnection between the top layer and this shorter portion down here. Combing the hair straight up from the head shape. Cutting in a short to long angle using our previously cut hair as a guide. When reaching the round of the head hold your section straight up to match previously cut hair. This look is styled with the hair pushed to the front and off to the side. And this is my boyish haircut for men.
