Experience Fulfilling Activities Together
Growing old together. This can be one of the most satisfying, gratifying, and challenging aspects for couples. I’d love to talk with you about some ideas I have for growing old together successfully. Discuss with each other what you’d like to do. You may want to go home and your spouse may want to go adventure hunting. You may want to start learning a new language, and he or she may want to learn how to cook. One of the things that’s important is to learn that at this point in your life what you would like to do, learn, experience, and which of those things you can do alone, and which of those things you’re better off doing together.
Focus on Positive Aspect of a Long Last Marriage
Focus on the positive aspects of your life together. Sometimes when people get older they focus on the negative, they focus on life that was gone and is no longer with them, they focus on areas of their bodies that hurt. Of course you want to be mindful of that, but really focus on that which brings you joy, the things you have yet to discover, the joys that you have because you’ve built a life together, and the memories that you’ve created. When you focus on the positive, your aging is that much pleasant and more wonderful for the two of you.
Growing Old Together Requires Support
Be with people who support you, who are good for you, and who make you laugh. Laughter when you get older is the most important thing to do. There’s certainly things to be happy about, there are certainly things to be sad about. But when you have a supportive group around you, people whom you trust, you as a couple will be able to grow older, stronger together as a couple. If you’d like to learn more about having a healthy marriage, please visit About.com.
