Hi! I'm Kate McCarthy for About.com and today we're going to learn how to look younger.

Apply a Foundation Makeup

First you want to start out with a moisturizer - you're going to apply it on your skin all over. And then you're going to move on to a primer. Primers are great if you want to look younger because they plump wrinkles and flaws that we may have on our face.Nest you'll apply a foundation. The most important thing to know when you're applying foundation is to not put a lot on - you think you need a lot to cover everything, but you don't.

Eye Makeup

For the eyes you want to keep it simple, and the best thing to remember - do not use anything that's sheer or shimmery if you have more mature skin. Stick with something matte and light. So just use a nice taupe color or mocha color, and just get it in the outside of your crease - don't go all the way in to the corner of your eye. Next, you're just going to want to cover the entire lid with a matte base - it can be white or skin-toned. And you're just going to go over it, and make sure to get everywhere on your lid, especially in the corner of your eye right here with the white. It's going to open up your eyes more, and make you look more awake and younger. Now, to line the eyes we're going to take your eyeliner - you can do black, brown, neutral colors, don't go with a blue or anything like that.

Here's the trick: what you want to do is keep the line thicker out here, and when you move into the corner of your eye, you want to go thinner. Now we do the mascara. Make sure to coat both the top and bottom of your lashes, and keep your bottom lashes clean. Now we want to fill in the brows. You're going to find a brow powder or brow pencil, and you want to follow the natural arc of your brow and just lightly fill. Once you're done filling, you want to take your brow brush, and just brush it through.

Blush Makeup

Okay, now we're going to more on to the blush. You want to use something that is really bright. I know this looks kind of scary and clown-like, but, you want to use something that is just going to radiate your face. You just want to blend it in, just from your cheek bone, here on - you want to avoid the apple of your cheek - that's going to give you a more sallow look.

Use a Natural Lip Color

Now we're going to move on to the lips. Just find a natural lip pencil, like a flesh-toned lip pencil, and you're just going to want to line and fill in your entire lip with the pencil. So now we're going to apply the lipstick - find something that's a long-lasting formula and that's a neutral tone.

Now here's a good tip to keep lipstick from bleeding into your mouth lines: take your concealer and concealer brush, and lightly trace the outlines of your lips, so not only is that going to keep the lipstick from bleeding, it's also going to outline your lips - so they're going to pop, they're going to look bigger, and fuller.

Now we're going to set the look with some powder. And there you have it, very natural, fresh, and clean. Thanks for watching! To learn more, visit us on the web at About.com.
