Transcript:How to Cover Up a Pimple

Hi! I'm Kate McCarthy with About.com and today I'm going to show you how to cover up a pimple.

Prepare Skin

The first thing we're going to do is prep any blemishes you're wanting to cover with moisturizer first.

Conceal the Pimple

Now we're going to take some concealer - take two different types of concealer: one, is going to be a yellow-base, and the other is going to be a skin tone. So then we're going to mix those together, and you're just going to start covering. You're just going to dot the concealer directly on the blemish, and then you're going to take your sponge and you're juts going to press the concealer in. You're not going to rub it.

Avoid Agitating the Pimple

When you're about to cover you pimple, just leave it alone. Don't pop it or pick at it - that's going to agitate it and make your skin red and flaky.

Powder the Pimple

The next thing you're going to do is take some pressed powder, and you're going to take your sponge and get a lot of powder on there. And then you're going to do the same thing with your concealer - you're going to press it in to any blemish you're wanting to cover.

Reduce Pimple Swelling

Another trick you can try is taking an ice cube and resting it on your blemish in the morning for about five minutes. It's going to take down the swelling and it's also going to take down the redness.

And there you have it! No more blemishes, it's like they were never there. Thank you for watching and to learn more, visit us on the web at About.com.
