Hi, I’m Michael Watkins with Reel Chord media for About.com. And today we’re gonna talk to you about how to eject a CD from a Mac computer.

Mac Keyboard Eject

Macs do not have an eject button on the CD tower, so to load a CD you will need to use the eject button on the keyboard. This can also be used to eject the CD.

Mac Finder Eject

Another easy method we can use is the finder. Simply right click on the disc on your desktop, and select the eject button. The keyboard shortcut for this function is command E.

Drag and Drop Eject

You can also drag and drop the CD to your trash bin, notice it then becomes an eject icon .Many applications that play CDs like iTunes or Apple’s DVD player, also have an eject button built right into the application. So you can simply use that to eject the CD or DVD that you’re playing.
