Hi, I'm Rachel Edelman, for About.com Food. Today I'm going to show you step by step how to make a fresh mango salsa. This salsa is a great topping for grilled chicken or fish.Mango Salsa Ingredients
To make the salsa, you will need:- 1 cup diced fresh mango
- 1/3 cup Roasted Red Pepper
- 1/3 cup Red Onion
- 1 jalepeno
- 1/2 a lime
- a large knife
- a small knife
- measuring cups
- a large mixing bowl
Wash and Chop the Mango
First wash the mango and the jalapeno pepper. Next cut and peel the mango. Cut the mango into strips and into small pieces so you have 1 cup for the salsa. Try to cut the pieces about the same size. Pour the cup of mango into a large bowl.Slice the Roasted Red Pepper
Now take some roasted red pepper and dice it into small pieces in the same way. You can use a red pepper that you roasted yourself, or you can find them in a jar at the supermarket. Add 1 third of a cup to the mango.Cut the Onion
Next dice some red onion. Do this by cutting into both sides of the onion without cutting all the way through. Turn the onion on its side and cut downward. Pour 1 third of a cup into the salsa.Slice the Jalapeno Pepper
Then we add our jalapeno pepper. First cut off the top, slice it down the middle, and spoon out the seeds. Next cut thin strips, which you then slice into little pieces.Flavor With Lime and Stir
Squeeze half a lime to add additional flavor and bring this salsa all together. You can experiment with this salsa, adding and trying your own favorite ingredients. Thanks for watching, to learn more visit us on the Web at food.about.com.
