Transcript:Low Fat Savory Chicken BreastHi, I 'm Chef Michelle Karam with Dishes By Michelle, in Los Angeles, California, for About.com. I 'm here today to talk to you about how to make a low fat chicken breast recipe.
Ingredients for Low Fat Savory Chicken BreastThe ingredients you 'll need for this recipe are:
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- fresh flat-leaf parsley
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil or canola oil
- fresh oregano
- fresh red chile pepper flakes, optional
- fresh garlic cloves, minced
- and salt & pepper
Instructions for Making Low Fat Savory Chicken BreastThe first thing I 'm going to do is add my olive oil, and I have one tablespoon of olive oil for both chicken breasts. I also have already chopped my parsley, my oregano, and my garlic, and I 've mixed them together, and I 'm going to go ahead and add that to it. I 'm also going to add some salt, fresh ground black cracked pepper, and I have some red chile flakes here, which are optional; if you like heat, go ahead and add some more, if you don 't, leave it out. And make sure everything is well coated. And you can allow this to marinate for up to 5-10 minutes, and then you can cook it. And as with all poultry, you need to make sure that you thoroughly wash your hands once you 're done working with it, or any surface that you have poultry on, always wash your hands thoroughly.
Cooking the Low Fat Savory Chicken BreastTo keep this recipe low fat, we 're going to go ahead and use some non-stick cooking spray, on a griddle that is over medium-high heat. And we 're going to lay these chicken breasts, breast side down, on the griddle, diagonally. And depending on the thickness of your chicken breast, it 's probably going to cook anywhere from 7-9 minutes on either side. And here it is, as simple as this: low fat chicken breast recipe that was so easy to make, all using natural, fresh ingredients, very little fat, and really outstanding flavor.
