Transcript:Low Fat Chicken Nuggets

Hi, I'm Rachel Edelman, for About.com Food. Today I'm going to show you an easy way to make low fat baked chicken nuggets. This is a fun and delicious dish to make for the whole family.

Prepare the Low Fat Chicken Nuggets

First preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Rinse some chicken tenders and cut them into 1 to 2 inch pieces.

Batter the Chicken Nuggets

We are going to dip the chicken 3 times. The first bowl has flour seasoned with salt and pepper. The second bowl has egg substitute. The third bowl has crushed cornflakes.
For extra flavoring, you can add Italian seasoning and some parmesan cheese to the flakes. Mine is mixed with cheese.

Place the chicken on a wire rack to dry a bit before placing it on a foil lined baking sheet. The drying rack will help make the chicken crispy and the foil will allow an easier clean up.

Try to switch hands so one hand is the dry hand and one hand is the wet hand. This will prevent your fingers from getting too sticky.

Bake the Low Fat Chicken Nuggets

Spray the pan with cooking spray and place the nuggets around the pan. Put the pan in the oven and cook for about 15 minutes. Pull out the pan and flip over the nuggets so they get a nice golden color on both sides. Put them back into the oven and take them out again in another 15 minutes. Take them off of the pan and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
