Transcript:How to Make a Sabbath Day Activity Box
Hi, Melissa Anderson here for About.com. Today, we'll demonstrate a great Sabbath day activity using an example from About.com's LDS site. We will assemble a "Things to Do" box. This fun and family friendly activity is sure to make the most of your valued day.Sabbath Day Activity Box Materials
We are going to need:- Small gift box
- Scissors
- Tape
- Ribbon
- Tissue Paper
- Pen
- Paper
Assemble Sabbath Day Activity Box
Putting it together: first, assemble the box. I have found a 6x6x3 in. box. This box was left over from cookies. Once assembled, set aside. Grab the curling ribbon. Use the scissors to cut the ribbon to the desired length, long enough to go around the box at least once. Fold the ribbon and hold the middle. Tie the ribbon around the box. You can make the decorations as elaborate or as simple as you like. Take your decorative tissue paper and cut according to the width of your box. Then, use tape to line the inside of your box.Write Down Sabbath Day Activities
Write several ideas on a sheet of paper. A fun way to get the entire family involved is to have to have each member to write down their favorite activity or an activity they have always wanted to do. Cut the ideas into small pieces of paper. Fold the pieces of paper as small as possible. I like to roll them so they don't get stuck together. Place inside of the box. The following Sunday, just reach into the box for your activity. Enjoy the endless possibilities with your "Things to Do" box.To learn more about LDS activities, visit About.com.
