Hi! I'm Debbie Anderson for About.com!Whether you're trying to live more frugally or your wanting to better protect both your home and the environment, the advantages of making your own homemade laundry soaps are endless. So today I'm going to show you how to make your own homemade laundry soap by using just three simple ingredients.
Laundry Soap Ingredients
To make 16 ounces of homemade laundry soap, you will need a measuring cup, a tablespoon, a hand grater, a stirring spoon, a mixing bowl, a storage container with a lid, a permanent marker, a label, a bar of soap, a box of borax, and washing soda.Shave Soap
First, use the hand grater to shave 1 bar of soap into the mixing bowl.Add Borax and Washing Soda
Next, pour one-half cup of borax and one-half cup of washing soda into the mixing bowl.Use your spoon to thoroughly stir these three ingredients together until you have a well mixed powder consistency.
Store Soap in Container
Next, pour the powder into the storage container and secure the lid on the top of it. Then, write on the label “Laundry Soap” and place the label on the container.Measuring Soap for Laundry
