Transcript:Host a Premiere Party for Your Child
Hi, I'm Angela de Jong-Angelici for About.com Parenting. Kids love to play dress up, and hosting a premier party is the perfect opportunity for them to get to play Hollywood. Planning a premiere party should be glitzy and fun.Create Fun Party Invitations
Creating really fun invitations is easy to do. You can help your child create them on the computer or make them with craft supplies. They should be cute, but don't forget all of the important information about the party. Make sure it tells the parents information such as when and where the party is, if parents need to stay, and if other siblings are invited.
Let guests know that the dress is Hollywood fun. Dress up in their favorite glamorous outfit.
Get Kids Involved in Decorating
When it comes to decorating, let the kids help out. Have them cut stars from construction paper and decorate them. Markers and glitter pens are perfect for making designs. Then hang the stars for the big event. You can hang them over the doorway, so the kids have to walk through the stars to enter your home.
Set up a Theater in the Living Room
Set your living room or area for the viewing up to look like a theater. You can easily move tables out of the way, then line up the chairs.Or for younger kids, forget the chairs and toss pillows everywhere. It will look more like a sleepover party, but hey, anything goes in Hollywood.
Make Quick, Simple Party Snacks
You can whip up some simple, tasty treats to keep your little divas happy. Have some fresh fruit on hand, such as strawberries and grapes.Put out some whipped crèam and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for a perfect dip. Try a little twist on your traditional party mix and add some chocolate and peanut butter chips to the mix.
Roll Out the Red Carpet
Don't forget to roll out the red carpet. You can purchase some inexpensive red fabric and line the path to your home. Don't forget to invite the paparazzi for the big arrival.Take photos with your digital camera and you can print them on your computer. Get some simple frames before the party and you can give your guests a fab photo when it's time to go home.
Make Child-Friendly Goodie Bags
And don't forget the goodie bags. Your little stars love treats, and they won't even have to pay the tax man for these. Fill them with candy, glitter, lip gloss, nail polish and other fun items. Now get ready for some froo-froo fun as Hollywood invades your home. Thanks for watching.
