Transcript:Make Halloween Desserts
Hi, I am Angela de Jong-Angelici for about dot com parenting. Halloween is a fun and spooky holiday. And kids love making scary treats. There are many treats you can make, but for this program we have picked a few that are easy to make with your kids. We will demonstrate how to make witches hats, cupcakes and graveyard brownies.Gather Ingredients
Once you decide which treats you want to make, gather all of your ingredients. You may want to cook cupcakes and brownies ahead of time. Children do not always have the patience for stirring, cooking, cooling, in other words, waiting. Have everything gathered up and ready to go. Your kids will only have to be creative. Now, get your kids ready to work in the kitchen. This means washing hands, pulling back longer hair and putting on an apron.
How to Make Witch Hats
Witches hats are simple to make. You will need sugar cones, cookies, frosting and an assortment of candy. Take the frosting and spread it on the cookie then put the cone on top. Use the frosting to decorate the hat with candy. Kids can get really creative or keep it simple. How to Make Witch Hat Cupcakes
The same concept will also work with cupcakes. Kids can get creative and decorate their cupcakes with frosting and candy. To keep them from going crazy with the candy, divide it into small cups and give each child a certain amount. That way if it does not make it to their cupcake, it will just be a little candy they eat.How to Make Graveyard Brownies
To make Graveyard brownies all you need is brownies, marshmallow, writing icing and some plastic ghosts, spiders or skeletons. Take your brownies and cut them into a rectangle to resemble a coffin. Flatten a big marshmallow and write R.I.P. on it. Attach it to the back of the brownie with some icing. Now decorate with your ghosts, spiders and skeletons. Your tasty treats will be a big hit with your little monsters.Halloween is a fun holiday and kids love dressing up and making fun treats.
