Transcript:Quick Tip: How to Write a Resume Objective
Hi, this is Christopher Berrien for About.com, and today we're going to talk about how to write a resume objective.
What is a Resume Objective?
An objective lists your general goal in seeking employment. State it clearly, and be sure to tailor it towards the specific job at which you're aiming.
The objective section of a resume is optional. Whether or not you include the objective section, you should definitely know what your goal is. Don't spend too much time detailing your skills. Think of this as a summary to spark a particular employer's interest.
Resume Objective Examples
Examples of objectives might include: to secure a position creating in-house videos that will help develop an online corporate presence. Or, a position that utilizes my twelve years of K-12 teaching experience in an administrative environment.
