How to Answer "Are You Overqualified?" in a Job Interview
The thing is, what they're really asking is, "Are you going to leave in six months and make me look bad and waste the money that the company has invested in training you?" But you can't say that! So, the answer to the question "Are you overqualified?" is: "If you look at my resume I probably do have more experience than the other candidates that are coming in. That said, I'm very excited about this position, I'm extremely excited about working for your company and I guarantee that once you hire me I'm willing to make an 18-month commitment to this job."
