Hello, my name is Dai Ishiguro for About.com. Today I'm going to teach you how to to say, "I had fun."   

Saying "I Had Fun" in Japanese

"I had fun" in Japanese, we say, "Tanoshikatta Desu." "Ta no shi ka tta De su," "Tanoshikatta Desu." "Tanoshikatta Desu" is a formal way of saying I had fun.

Casual way, we say, "Tanoshikatta." "Ta no shi ka tta." If you go out with your boyfriend, girlfriend, end of the day, you can say, "Tanoshikatta." If you go to Disney World with your boss, you can say, "Tanoshikatta Desu." 

Writing "I Had Fun" in Japanese

Now I'm going to write "I had fun" in Japanese. This is Kanji. "Tanoshikatta." This is like enjoy, this means "enjoy." "Ta no shi ka tta De su," "I had fun." "Tanoshikatta Desu," this is the formal way. The casual way, you can get rid of "Desu." You can say, "Tanoshikatta." "Tanoshikatta."
