Hello, my name is Dai Ishiguro for About.com.  Today I'm going to teach you how to say, "How much?" in Japanese.  

Two Ways to Ask "How Much?" in Japanese

Oikura Desuka?  O i ku ra De su ka?  That's a formal way of saying How much?  The casual way we say, "Ikura?".  I ku ra  Ikura.  Ikura means like how much?  It's a little bit rude so you should stick with Oikura Desuka?

Write "How Much?" in Japanese

 Now I'm going to write.  O i ku ra.  Oikura means how much?  Casual way you just say Ikura?  How much?  But you want to be polite, right?  So then you should say, "Oikura Desuka?"   Oikura Desuka?  How much is it? Thank you for watching.  For more information please visit About.com.
