Hi, I'm Devita Jacobs for About.com and today I'm going to discuss how to upload music files to your iPhone

To Upload Music Files to Your iPhone, You Will Need:

  • The USB cable that came with your iphone
  • A computer with a USB port.
First, detach the wall charger extension from your cord to reveal the USB attachment then plug the attachment into the laptop.

Navigate iTunes to Upload Music on Your iPhone

Connect the opposite end to your iphone. When your computer detects your iphone, iTunes will normally open automatically. Click on the name of your iphone under “Devices” in the main menu. Next, click the Music category to show all the music in your iTunes library. Your music is divided between playlists, libraries and individual songs. You can add songs individually or select an entire group of songs in one library.

Make Sure Your iPhone has Space to Upload the Music

When you select a box next to a song or playlist, the bar at the bottom of your sync menu reveals how much space the selected files will take up on your iphone. If the selection sends your phone over capacity, you may have to uncheck several selections before you can sync your phone. Click “sync” to begin uploading your music files to your phone. Your iphone will read “sync in progress” until the process is complete. Click eject next to your phone on the main menu once the sync is complete.
