Hi, I'm Pamela French for About.com. Today I'm going to show you how to use your email on the iPad.
Accessing Email on an iPad
To get to your mail on the iPad, tap on the Mail app. Your inbox is on the left-hand side of the screen, with the compose (email) window on the right. Landscape and portrait views are a little different from each other, so it's your preference how you like to view and work with your emails
Checking New Email
The blue circle next to an email shows you that it's unread; once you tap on the message and open it, the blue dot will disappear. If your iPad is connected to Wi-Fi, it should automatically receive emails, but you can also force it to check for new mail by pressing on the "Refresh" icon at the bottom of the inbox.
Writing and Deleting Emails on iPad
iPad email is like most other emails apps in that you compose, reply and forward messages. It also allows you to save or delete a draft if you press the cancel button on the top left of the compose window. To delete emails, you can either simply swipe the mail message and delete or archive it, or click the "Edit" button above your inbox. This allows you to delete multiple emails at once, or move then to a new folder.
Use Multiple Email Accounts
You also have the option of switching back and forth between accounts if you have more than one email account. All you have to do is tap the button on the top left corner that says "Mailboxes."
If can't find an email in your inbox, you can use the search box at the top of the screen. Tap inside this field, type either the persons name or a word that is relevant to the email itself.
The iPad's email app is extremely user friendly, so once in it, you should be able to compose, read, and reply to your emails.
