Transcript:How to Set Up Email on an iPad

Hi, I'm Pamela French for and today I'm going to show you how to set up your email on your iPad

Choosing Your Email Account

The email on the iPad is a cinch to use; it practically sets itself up right out of the box. The first time you open Mail, a menu will pop up asking you to select the email service that you use. Accounts like iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo! AOL, Microsoft Hotmail are all automatically supported by the iPad. All you need to do is enter your email address and password and you'll be ready to go.

For Exchange mail, press on Microsoft Exchange, enter your email address, and the other information you are asked for – username, password, etc. – make sure you have this information handy when you're setting up your mail. If prompted, enter the server name, decide what you want to sync - Mail, Contacts and/or Calendars – and there you have it, your account will now be configured

Enter Email Info Manually Into iPad

If you have a different mail service than what's offered, you'll have to select other and enter your details manually. If you want to add additional email accounts, then you can do so by tapping on the Settings app, selecting Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then choosing Add Account. Here's where you'll enter name, email password and description, you know, something like "work," "home," something to set it apart.

Verify Email Info

Select Next, it's a button in the top right-hand corner. Your Next window is where you add your mail servers, so again, make sure you have that information readily available. You'll also need to add your user name and password for verification. Once all this is entered, the iPad will do the rest of the work, and you'll be ready to check and send emails.
