Hi, I am Denise with Decor by Denise and today I am going to share with you my best tips for how to make your furniture pop and how to downplay those less than stellar pieces.
Coordinate Colors to Use Paint to Make Furniture Pop
If you have a fabric that you are using in upholstery or a pillow try selecting a coordinating wall color from the background of the print, or the foreground whichever you choose. Then you can use deeper or brighter tones as accents in the room or in adjacent spaces.
Use Paint to Make Statement Furniture Stand Out
Contrast, contrast, contrast, if you have a statement piece in your room, you really want it to stand out, right? So why not paint the walls as soft colors such as an off-white or a pale-gray that will surely make your piece shine.
Use Paint to Showcase Artwork
If you have recently purchased some artwork that you want to showcase in your home, use it to create a visual vignette with your furniture to make the furniture stand out even more. Add a spatial color to an existing piece of furniture to really make that piece stand out in your room. It's as easy as buying several cans of gloss spray paint in a vibrant color. And if you are working on a chest or other piece that has doors, upgrade the pulls or knobs to really make that piece really shine.
Use a Monochromatic Paint Palette to Hide Furniture
So what about that piece of furniture that you basically really don't like, and you want it to just sort of blend and hide into the background? Well, monochromatic color scheme is the best solution for this, because everything is pretty much the same color, that piece of furniture will just blend in with everything else and really won't stand out.
So those are some of my tips for how to make your furniture pop. Thanks for watching.
